Creating the conditions for a contemplative life:

Lent is traditionally a time for increased spiritual practice; a time to work on the desert spaces of our lives and invite them to bloom again. Over the season of Lent Brother Richard will share the sacred disciplines of Lent through meditation, poetry, mindfulness practice and the ancient teaching of the Christian contemplative tradition.

About the Facilitator

Brother Richard

Brother Richard is a priest-friar of the Irish branch of the Capuchin Franciscan Order who authored the viral poem ‘Lockdown’ and the best seller Still Points: A Guide to Living the Mindful, Meditative Way. For over 20 years he has worked to bring the insights of the Christian Contemplative tradition to greater public awareness, particularly with reference to modern Mindfulness theory. He has worked with the Sanctuary for many years developing many courses and trainings particularly for young people and their teachers.
