Workshop Description:

This 8-week Mindfulness Course is the Mindfulness Association’s flagship course and has been taught widely throughout the UK and Europe. It richly combines experiential development of mindfulness and compassion. In simple terms, the course teaches how we can navigate in a more skilful way through what is an increasingly uncertain, distracted, and turbulent world. As life around us becomes ever more challenging, it is vital to learn ways in which we can calm and steady ourselves.

The course is based on the Mindfulness Association’s one year training in Mindfulness. It is an 8- week course consisting of 8 classes which are 2 hours in duration. An optional practice day will be offered between weeks 7 and 8 and a follow up session will be offered 3 months after the course has been completed.

Week 1: Start Where We Are
Week 2: The Body as a Place to Stay Present
Week 3: Introducing Mindfulness Support
Week 4: Working with Distraction
Week 5: Exploring the Undercurrent
Week 6: Attitude of the Observer
Week 7: Self-Acceptance
Week 8: A Mindfulness Based Life

The course is suitable for everyone – whether you are new to mindfulness or would like to deepen an existing practice. It provides a solid foundation for a life rooted in mindfulness and compassion.

About The Facilitator

     
    • Joan Flannelly is the founding teacher of Heart Space, a meditation centre based in the West of Ireland. She is a tutor on The Sanctuary’s Teacher Training programme and also teaches on The Sanctuary’s Level 2 – Responding with Compassion, the Art of Compassion and the Caring for the Caregivers programme. She has been inspired to teach through the incredible changes she experienced in her own life through the practice of mindfulness.

      • Cancellation available 5 days prior to the event with full refund and credit will be applied for any cancellation requested up to 48hrs prior to the course or workshop.
      • In the event of cancellation from the side of the sanctuary due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness etc. refund or credit can be applied.
      • Please note: our courses will close for booking 24hrs prior to start date. Zoom details etc. are sent out once the booking has closed to ensure our community members have everything they need in advance of their course beginning.
