Workshop Description:

In this introduction to meditation workshop we will explore what mediation is, the benefits of meditation and different types of mediation practices. The morning will includes some guided meditations along with practical tips for mediation, like creating a comfortable space and finding the right posture. We will discuss how to bring mindfulness into our daily lives and engage in some gentle movement practise or walking meditation.

The session will include time for group discussions and reflections and is open to all levels with particular emphasis on those starting out on their mindfulness journey.

About The Facilitator

  • Richard holds an MSc in Psychological Interventions from UCD and has extensive experience teaching awareness-based practices such as mindfulness and meditation.
  • He has also studied and worked with the Polyvagal Institute to deepen his understanding of how trauma impacts the nervous system.
  • Currently, Richard runs a therapeutic practice, offering one-on-one and group sessions focused on somatic approaches to enhance mental health and well-being.
  • He believes understanding the body’s wisdom is key to helping us break free from the hold of past and present traumatic experiences
