The Sanctuary is a registered charity dedicated to personal well-being, mindfulness, and contemplation. Founded in 1998 by Sr. Stan Kennedy and Síle Wall, it continues to support individuals on their life journey through meditation and reflection.

Join the Sanctuary's annual 31-Day Meditation Challenge 2026!
Each day, during the month of October, participants will receive an email with a new recorded meditation, helping them build on their meditation practice as a community. Each meditation will last about 15 minutes. The goal is to meditate every day for the month of October. You decide on the time and the place.
This challenge is designed to bring people together through a practice that aids the wellbeing of participants. The 31-Day Challenge comprises of 31 recordings of guided meditation with 30 different facilitators.
This year’s overall theme, “Nourishing Personal Growth for Greater Social Impact,” centers on the powerful connection between inner transformation and the way we show up in the world. Through this lens, we’ll explore practices that cultivate inner balance, support embracing change, and strengthen the courage to love; both ourselves and others.
The 31-Day Meditation Challenge serves as our biggest fundraiser of the year and with these funds, we can continue to provide our 4 weekly donation-based meditations, our Friends of the Sanctuary Fund as well as our Befriending Programme. For €1 per day, you will receive meditations from Pat Divilly, Dr. Tony Bates, Clare Mckenna, Brother Richard Hendrick, and many more of our regular Sanctuary facilitators.

Therapeutic Yoga is rooted in the Polyvagal Theory by Dr. Stephen Porges. It weaves the traditional teachings of yoga with the understanding of the vagus nerve, which plays a central role in our emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.

10 Week Foundation Course Online for Personal & Professional Development
At The Sanctuary, we provide a range of meditation, mindfulness, and well-being programs designed to support personal growth and inner peace. Whether you're new to meditation or deepening your practice, our offerings create a space for reflection, renewal, and connection.

Courses are usually run on weekday mornings or evenings (online or onsite) over a number of weeks. The courses are designed to deliver in-depth knowledge of the subject in a meaningful way.

The Sanctuary offers professional development courses for educators and those training to become mindfulness teachers, both in schools and other organisations.

Workshops are once off sessions rather than part of a series. These events are a good introduction to various types of mindfulness. They are perfect for beginners and for people looking to try something new.

Community is integral to the Sanctuary. Creating a space where everyone is welcome to join in and to enjoy different types and styles of meditation. We have weekly onsite and online meditations.
The Sanctuary has evolved organically over the years to include mindfulness programmes for schools, programmes for carers and those working in the frontline services of society. Moreover, it offers tailored programmes for commercial organisations, charities, workplaces and management teams. All our courses are inspired by a deep and heartfelt wish and mission to nourish personal growth for greater social impact, ultimately helping to create a more resilient and just society.

Join our growing community and help us keep our programmes running. As a member, you’ll get free access to weekly meditations (online and in-person), members-only events, and a library of mindfulness resources. Your support makes a real difference.
