Sitting with our emotions: how to heal from the inside with mindfulness meditation and meditative poses

This workshop is ONSITE

Workshop Description:

Emotions are an essential part of who we are, however they can be messy, complicated and confusing at times.

Knowing how to name our emotions and talk about the way we feel is a key part of developing our emotional health.

When we experience uncomfortable and painful emotions is very difficult for us to “sit with it” and that’s the reason why our first reaction is to push them away.

This is a natural, human response, however when we repress our emotions they can get trapped in the body, which can lead to experience emotional imbalance as well as health problems.

This unprocessed emotional energy is stored in our organs, muscles and tissues and can create toxicity in our body, mind and heart.

With this workshop we start answering questions like:

Where do I feel the emotion in the body?

What thoughts are there when I feel this way?

During this workshop you will learn the importance of recognizing, allowing and accepting emotions and how you can adopt a kinder and more compassionate approach when experiencing uncomfortable emotions.

The workshop includes a number of mindfulness practices such as R.A.I.N. developed by meditation teacher Tara Brach, the self-compassion break by Kristin Neff, the world’s leading experts on self-compassion, as well as meditative poses and mindful writing.

The meditative poses will help to release emotions with a particular focus on the hips as this is where emotional stagnant energy gets trapped in the body especially in women.

Make sure you have a journal with you and dress comfortably for the day to facilitate the slow movement.

We kindly encourage you to bring a light lunch as there will be a short break during the day.

About The Facilitator

  • After embarking on a journey of personal growth through coaching and mindfulness, Aurora attended the Mindfulness Based Living Course at the Sanctuary and became a qualified mindfulness meditation teacher in 2021. Aurora regularly runs online meditation sessions for people with intellectual disabilities and their assistants for L’Arche Kilkenny. Aurora has recently completed forest bathing training with Nadur. This journey has allowed her to reconnect with nature in a new, joyful way. She believes that our relationship with nature should be based on the concept of reciprocity; so, because we receive many benefits from the natural world, we need to make sure to give nature something back by protecting and preserving our biodiversity.
“Tune in with Nature. Only then you’ll know where you come from.”

Aurora’s deepest wish is to support others to reconnect with nature in a mindful and peaceful way.
