Art Therapy Experiential Workshop

Workshop Description:

This experiential art therapy workshop will offer you a gentle invitation to tap into your internal well-spring of resources using both directive and non-directive art therapy approaches. 

Offering a safe and containing space, you will be guided toward finding calm and quiet in the use of expressive art materials.  There will be time for you to immerse in your own creative process to reflect a deeper sense of self, while an opportunity to acknowledge the change of the season and where you are in the present will be available within the group process.

This workshop will include some grounding techniques and guided mediations which will lead you mindfully into a creative space to explore through the medium of drawing.

No prior experience necessary, the workshop is for enjoyment and exploration.

About The Facilitator

• Gerri qualified as an Art Therapist (UH, UK) in 1996, working in Ireland in acute adult mental health, child and family/child and adolescent mental health services, while teaching art therapy and personal development at third level in the intervening years.

• Since 2008, Gerri has provided supervision consultation to junior and more senior creative arts psychotherapists and counselling psychologists to support their practice.  Gerri has a private art therapy practice, based at the Sanctuary, since 2022.

  • Remember we have the Friends of the Sanctuary Fund to support you in case you are in a situation where you cannot afford a course or workshop. With trust you can email operations@sanctuary.ie
  • Cancellation available 5 days prior to the event with full refund and credit will be applied for any cancellation requested up to 48hrs prior to the course or workshop.
  • In the event of cancellation from the side of the sanctuary due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness etc. refund or credit can be applied.
  • Please note: our courses will close for booking 24hrs prior to start date. Zoom details etc. are sent out once the booking has closed to ensure our community members have everything they need in advance of their course beginning.
