This course is Onsite

Workshop Description:

It is no surprise that those living or working in a caregiver capacity are often susceptible to stress, anxiety, physical strain and a diminished quality of life (McBee, 2003), and that tending to their own needs and mental well-being can be difficult. This doesn’t mean that there are no resources available, rather access to programmes designed to help with burnout can be problematic due to financial, geographical and bureaucratic barriers.

The Sanctuary is offering an afternoon of Introductory Self- Compassion- Based Mindfulness Wellbeing free of charge to those who are working in a caring profession or are caring for someone in their home.

Our Caring for the Caregiver workshops are designed to include a variety of methodologies, including presentation, guided meditation practices, discussions, question and answers, demonstrations, small and large group exercises.

This course will provide participants with the opportunity to experience mindfulness and compassion practices for themselves with a view to integrating them into daily life as a means of well-being and resilience.

Light refreshments will be provided on the day. You may wish bring a journal and a pen and some layers or a rain jacket in case some mindful walking is included in the session.
